My Long Term Project

As you may know by now I am very much in to crafts. I constantly search for ideas and inspiration for new projects. But sometimes I simply don’t have the energy to start a new project, so to help me in situations when I don’t have anything to do I have: long term projects. I only have one of these projects at the moment, but on the other hand I have worked on it for years and I still have a long way to go before it’s finished.

To make the base of the clutch I used an old clutch and covered it in this beige fabric which works great for embroidery, on the inside I used a fabric with a similar color but with a print. This process was pretty quick especially compared to what I had left, but what was left was also the fun part. I decided a color scheme pretty much right away and then I searched for material (at home) that could work. I tried out different things like adding pieces of fabric, strings, ribbons and pearls. But I have also done a bit of embroidery with different threads.

What inspired me to start this project is this clutch below (sold years ago) from Antik Batik. I was so in love with this bag and I still am. The thought when I decided to make my own was how much time it would take, which was why I decided to work on it for however long I wanted to. I am so excited about this project and I’m looking forward to see how it will turn out in the end. If you’re interested I will try and keep you updated about the project!
