I woke up this morning super tired as usual but I felt so much better when I heard the birds sing, you know the ones that sing when spring has arrived (don’t know what kind they are though, I don’t really know birds) I do know that among the birds there was a dove, I know that one very well just because it sounds kind of funny (especially when you sing along, not that I have ever done that…) . . .
Yesterday didn’t go as planned but I did end up having a great time at home with a fashion magazine to update me, coffee and an amazing cheesecake (and I haven’t made this every weekend during the last month or so…) It’s so good, especially with some fresh blueberries on top. . . .
Wearing a dress over pants or jeans is something I’m really into right now. Wear it as is or with your dress half tucked in for a relaxed look. . . .
During fashion week last year I saw photos from one of the shows (I don’t remember which I’m afraid) where they had added a metal circle like mine on to pants; some where empty and others had something hanging from them (I think they were coats or jackets.) I am surprised that this never became a trend because first of all it’s a really cool detail and second it’s super smart. Say you want to take off your lightweight jacket when walking around in a mall, hang it on the metal circle (add it to the back of your jeans or belt if it’s annoying to have in the front.) If you’re tired of carrying a bag with keys, card and phone, find or make a small bag and hang it on to the metal circle. I could go on and on but I think I have written enough already. (wait I just realized that those responsible for a large amount of keys actually have similar metal circles on their belt.. I think it’s time to steal their idea) . . .
Plaid is one of the trends will se a lot of this year and I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love plaid and don’t even get me started on plaid mixed with more plaid.. If I’m only getting one more plaid item it would be a skirt or a yellow plaid shirt (because I love yellow and it also happens to be one of the trends this year.) . . .
A piece that I really love is the button up dress (or zipper dress) because it can be worn in different ways. Wear it the way it’s meant to like a dress, a vest or cardigan like I did today and some can even be worn a as a top or tunic. . . .
