Every piece is so unique and interesting, and yet they&#8217;re all so simple. I&#8217;m really into brooches right now and because it&#8217;s a growing trend I decided to make some for myself. I ended up making two brooches and I&#8217;m so pleased. The felt flower brooch is inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.net-a-porter.com\/se\/en\/product\/884114\/marni\/leather--gold-tone-and-crystal-brooch\">this one<\/a>, and the\u00a0other one isn&#8217;t inspired by a specific piece, but more by the label itself. The small one with a pair of sunglasses is my mom&#8217;s old brooch. Today I&#8217;m going to show you how I made these matching brooches. Therefor I&#8217;m not showing you a picture of the things I used, but here is a list of what you might need(and some of the things I used):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Set of pliers<\/li>\n<li>Needles<\/li>\n<li>Jewelry glue<\/li>\n<li>Thread<\/li>\n<li>Safety pins<\/li>\n<li>Brooch bases<\/li>\n<li>Fabric<\/li>\n<li>Fabric flowers or similar things<\/li>\n<li>Feathers (I had planned to use that at first)<\/li>\n<li>Metal pieces, I used a rhinestone metal frame for one of the brooches.<\/li>\n<li>Rhinestones, embedded in metal or not.<\/li>\n<li>Other things you can use are pieces (like the small sunglasses) that you like, but you have no use for, chains, pearls, leather and so much more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now that we&#8217;ve got that covered, let&#8217;s start creating!<\/p>\n<h4><strong>I&#8217;m starting with the felt flower brooch, here are the steps and the pieces I used:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5393 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-2024x1307.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-2024x1307.jpg 2024w, https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-150x97.jpg 150w, https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-300x194.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-768x496.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-1500x968.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-425x274.jpg 425w, https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-650x420.jpg 650w, https:\/\/fashionpsychic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/DIYBrooches-1400x904.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The first thing\u00a0I did was to cut my black and red felt into the flower shape I wanted. Once I was happy with the shapes I places the red piece on the black, a little off center. After tying a knot at the back, I cut off the ends of the thread. The last thing I did was to glue on the brooch base at the back. Then I added the small black flower by folding it over the red, and then I glued it in place.
