One of the most trending pieces right now is the classic; wrap dress. Other then it’s flattering fit the wrap dress also happens to be versatile. After buying my black floral wrap dress from Shein last year (see it here) I was hooked on this amazing silhouette. I couldn’t believe I didn’t own one already. With that said, I recently ordered a new wrap dress
My new wrap dress is currently my favorite piece for several reasons.
If you’re looking for some options, I will list some links at the end of the post 😉
The first one is pretty obvious; wearing it like it’s meant to be worn. Like I mentioned, a wrap dress is so beautiful on its own and you don’t need to add much at all to it. I added my Bjorg necklace and a pair of mother of pearl studs from Etsy (Druzyworld.) I paired the dress with my favorite black booties from Office and that was it. For the hair I simply made a messy bun.
If you live in a colder climate you can add tights to go with the dress, or you could pair it with some skinny jeans. This layered look has been a favorite of mine for a while now. You can either half tuck the dress into the waistband of the jeans or simply let the jeans peak at the bottom and as you walk. The jeans automatically dresses the look down, making it more day appropriate. To match the colors in my dress I wore my white earrings (here is the DIY) and my red pointed booties.
Another way to wear the wrap dress is to layer it over other pieces like a coat. Personally, I love thinner coats because they are perfect for layering. By leaving the dress untied you get the same effect. If you don’t want to risk getting stuck or tripping (or getting them dirty), you can tie the ribbons at the back. But if you, like me, feel like this ruins the look, you can tie large bows on each ribbon to shorten them a bit. I layered my dress over a pair of red culottes and a navy camisole. I also added a red waist belt, rhinestone necklace and earrings and for shoes I wore my red pumps.
Although it wasn’t the smartest, I couldn’t resist looking for more wrap dresses. Because I can’t get them all, maybe you can instead 😉 These are all from Asos:
These were only a fraction of the thousand wrap dresses Asos had, so I suggest you go and take a look, but I warn you; you will want to buy things…
