DIY Fringe Bag

DIY Fringe Bag

I finally got around to making this fringe bag DIY which I started planning many months ago. Unfortunately, 2019 was a pretty terrible year for me in many ways. After the loss of my beloved grandmother the year before I began having a lot more anxiety than I used to. I had panic attacks several times a day and this went on for months. . . .  read more

With animal print making a huge comeback this year, I started to think about cow print. So I thought it was about time I did something I have wanted to do for a very long time. You see there is something I have always been lacking in my closet despite wanting it for many years. Let me begin by telling you a little story. . . .  read more

DIY One Shoulder: Transform An Old Top

DIY One Shoulder: Transform An Old Top

The One Shoulder Top

I remember years ago when the one shoulder top was trending and I wanted one so badly! If I remember correctly, my mom wouldn’t let me have one. But because of how inventive I am, I simply cut one of my old tops, hoping that would be good enough. It wasn’t, of course, because it was too loose around the chest area.. Other than that, it wasn’t similar at all to the top I actually wanted. I don’t remember its exact appearance, but I do know that it was red and white. With that said, the top above seems like the perfect alternative to satisfy my nine(ish) year old self, as well as my current needs for a new one shoulder top. . . .  read more

5 Outfits To Sparkle In This Season (New video)

5 Outfits To Sparkle In This Season (New video)

YouTube

This week I have been working on another video and instead of a DIY I decided to focus more on fashion. Although I am focusing more on fashion here than on YouTube I still want to incorporate some of it. The plan with YouTube is to make a video for each category I want my videos to be. This way you’ll be able to see different options, but I’m also able to try different things out.

Because I love all forms of art and crafts, I have a lot to choose from. I might end up with another channel focusing things unrelated to fashion.

Sparkle Sparkle

As I mentioned in my last post, things that sparkle are trending this season and I certainly don’t mind. I’ll admit that I bought and downloaded an app just because of it and if you use Instagram a lot you may know what which app I’m talking about. Kira Kira is an amazing app that allows you to add as much sparkle to your photos and videos as you like. I love this app and I definitely recommend it to those who need more sparkle in their life. Now all I need are a pair sunglasses that do the same thing.. (I didn’t use the app for the video though, because I don’t know how 🙁 )

Today’s video is a lot shorter than the last one and it’s an example of how I could make outfit videos. I would like to say thank you to my cat Spike for joining me on the catwalk and to my cat Lizzie who totally saved my intro.

Spring/Summer Trend Report 2018 Part 3

Spring/Summer Trend Report 2018 Part 3

*This blog post contains affiliate links.

After weeks of patiently (not so much) waiting for my denim jacket from Yesstyle, it finally arrived a few days ago. So, finally, I’m sharing my third and final trend report (for the season.) By the way, if you missed my first YouTube video, here’s a link. Enjoy!

Trend Report Part 3

In each of the two outfits I have prepared for today are a few different trends. Some of these trends were also included in the first and the second trend report, but the trends are new.

My nails for today’s post are these easy gradient blue nails with clouds. They make me so happy (especially since the sky hasn’t been blue for a few days now) and they’re the perfect nail art for beginners, like me.

Trend Report Outfit 1

The first outfit includes the trend that started last year and was huge during the colder seasons. I’m of course talking about plaid and I still love it. Because I’m going to Paris in June I feel like there is anything I need by then, it’s a plaid blazer (assuming it’s not too hot.)

trend report

Another trend is one I have always loved and that’s polka dots or dots. Big or small don’t matter and if you like to mix your printed pieces, polka dots are perfect. Next we have the scarf print and in my case, it’s actually on scarf, but anything with a scarf print is on trend.

trend report

My favorite trend in this outfit has got to be the western trend and I chose my black tassel vest with western looking embroidery to represent it. The scarf also adds to the vibe, but if you only plan on buying one item, it should be the most obvious. The cowboy boot of course, and you can either go for a classic looking pair or something more subtle. I think I want a classic pair, but with a high heel.

Trend Report Outfit 2

The second outfit includes more trends than the first and I’ll start with the one I’ve been on about for almost a year. Mesh, I seriously wonder how many times I’ve used that word.. Anyway, mesh is still trending but also other sheer fabrics. If you’re wondering how to wear a sheer skirt or dress, the answer is the next trend, the hotpants. Now I am aware that it’s a daring trend, but it’s also gorgeous.

trend report

My hotpants that were originally a pair of leggings holds yet another trend, Sequins or anything sparkly. Yes, we can finally sparkle a little extra during the warm seasons. Because I love this trend so much, I’m planning a post surrounding it so keep your eyes peeled..

Next we have denim and as you know, denim is always on trend, but this season it’s a little extra trendy. During spring/summer fashion week there was mainly a lot of dark denim which is part of the reason why I decided on a dark denim jacket.

trend report

The next trend is vertical stripes, which also happens to be more flattering than the classic horizontal stripe. Think light colors like cream and yellow, or jade green and white. Although if you prefer bright colors, the next trend might just be for you. I’m talking about my absolute favorite trend in this post, RAINBOWS! (here is a link to the rainbow body)This includes all prints with the colors of the rainbow, but also Holo(graphic) (I shall refer you to the Holo Queen Cristine)

3 Ways To Wear The Wrap Dress

3 Ways To Wear The Wrap Dress

*This blog post contains affiliate links.

One of the most trending pieces right now is the classic; wrap dress. Other then it’s flattering fit the wrap dress also happens to be versatile. After buying my black floral wrap dress from Shein last year (see it here) I was hooked on this amazing silhouette. I couldn’t believe I didn’t own one already. With that said, I recently ordered a new wrap dress from Stradivarius (I had originally intended to order it from Asos, but they were out of stock at the time).

My New Wrap Dress

My new wrap dress is currently my favorite piece for several reasons.

  • First of all, stripes, I love stripes. I constantly wear stripes and I do prefer them in either blue and white, red and white and black and white. Naturally the combo blue, white and red makes sense for me to add to my closet. Another thing about stripes is the fact that they’re vertical which happens to be a huge trend this season.
  • As you can see, the stripes differ slightly on each side. This you may already know that I love, because anything asymmetrical is very much me.
  • The details, from the wrap to the ribbons to the high low hemline and the buttons on the cuffs. This dress has so much going on and that’s definitely one of my favorite things about it. If you’d like you can just throw it on and pair it with some classic red pumps or even some white sneakers. So easy to wear and it’s impossible for it to look boring.

If you’re looking for some options, I will list some links at the end of the post 😉

The Wrap Dress: As It Is

The first one is pretty obvious; wearing it like it’s meant to be worn. Like I mentioned, a wrap dress is so beautiful on its own and you don’t need to add much at all to it. I added my Bjorg necklace and a pair of mother of pearl studs from Etsy (Druzyworld.) I paired the dress with my favorite black booties from Office and that was it. For the hair I simply made a messy bun.

The Wrap Dress: As A Top

If you live in a colder climate you can add tights to go with the dress, or you could pair it with some skinny jeans. This layered look has been a favorite of mine for a while now. You can either half tuck the dress into the waistband of the jeans or simply let the jeans peak at the bottom and as you walk. The jeans automatically dresses the look down, making it more day appropriate. To match the colors in my dress I wore my white earrings (here is the DIY) and my red pointed booties.

The Wrap Dress: As A Coat

Another way to wear the wrap dress is to layer it over other pieces like a coat. Personally, I love thinner coats because they are perfect for layering. By leaving the dress untied you get the same effect. If you don’t want to risk getting stuck or tripping (or getting them dirty), you can tie the ribbons at the back. But if you, like me, feel like this ruins the look, you can tie large bows on each ribbon to shorten them a bit. I layered my dress over a pair of red culottes and a navy camisole. I also added a red waist belt, rhinestone necklace and earrings and for shoes I wore my red pumps.

Although it wasn’t the smartest, I couldn’t resist looking for more wrap dresses. Because I can’t get them all, maybe you can instead 😉 These are all from Asos:

These were only a fraction of the thousand wrap dresses Asos had, so I suggest you go and take a look, but I warn you; you will want to buy things…
