DIY: Floral Embroidered Tulle Blouse

DIY: Floral Embroidered Tulle Blouse

If you’ve read my blog for a while you might have noticed that I have a thing for tulle and mesh. I thought I would be tired of it after all this time but fortunately, I’m not. Among the many inspirational pictures I have on my phone is the Elie Saab resort 2019 collection and it has everything that I love.

With lots of red, black, white as well as gold details, floral embroidery, floral print, tulle, leopard print, cool details, and subtle western vibes mixed with glamour I can’t help but be inspired.

I decided to take one of my favorite elements from the collection and turn it into an easy DIY. If you have basic sewing skills you can do it. The only issue with this type of DIY is that it is time-consuming. If you enjoy repetitive sewing however it is the perfect DIY for you. But regardless of whether you enjoy sewing the results are definitely worth it!

How to make it

Before attaching the flowers and the rhinestones I decided I didn’t like the neckline on my blouse. So I cut of the high neck (skipping the sewing part because of the fabric.)

Next I cut out all the big flowers from the crochet piece. The crochet piece was originally attached to an old pair shorts of mine that were too small.

I placed the flowers in a pattern that I liked. I measured between the flowers to make sure they were evenly spaced.

I then pinned them in place and sewed them on by hand. I ended up only placing them on the front because I didn’t have enough flowers.

Finally, I sewed on the rhinestones in the center of each flower.

If you want to you can attach the rhinestones to the flowers and then sew them on to the blouse. I only thought of this after sewing on the flowers but you may find it less tedious that way.
